When you use PhaseLens, we collect:

• Account information: Email address when you register via Firebase Authentication
• Usage data: Ticker symbols you analyze, features you use, pages visited, timestamps
• Technical data: Browser type, device type, IP address, referring URL
• Portfolio data: Holdings, watchlist tickers, and analysis history you choose to save (stored locally in your browser)

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and improve the PhaseLens analysis service
• To authenticate your account and maintain your session
• To send password reset emails when requested
• To analyze aggregate usage patterns and improve our algorithms
• To detect and prevent fraud or abuse

We do NOT sell your personal information to third parties. We do NOT use your data to train external AI models.

3. Data Storage and Security

Account authentication is handled by Firebase (Google), which maintains its own security certifications. Portfolio data is stored locally in your browser's localStorage and sessionStorage — it never leaves your device unless you explicitly share it.

Usage event data (which tickers were analyzed, when) is stored on our backend server hosted on Render. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect this data.

5. Cookies and Local Storage

PhaseLens uses browser localStorage and sessionStorage to maintain your session and remember your preferences. We do not use tracking cookies. Firebase Authentication uses cookies for session management.

6. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Opt out of non-essential data collection
• Receive a copy of your data in a portable format

7. Data Retention

Account data is retained while your account is active. Usage event logs are retained for up to 12 months. You may request deletion at any time.

8. Children's Privacy

PhaseLens is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has registered, contact us immediately at privacy@phaselens.ai.

9. Changes to This Policy

We will notify registered users of material changes to this policy via email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
